A special date for this year's conference, changed to accommodate a special screening of the Shakespeare authorship film Anonymous on September 7th for conference attendees, with director Roland Emmerich in attendance to speak both before and after the screening. Don't miss it. Other papers and panels will discuss the explosive implications of the thesis underlying the movie, mainly that the Virgin Queen Elizabeth may have had children, and that these children (maybe Oxford?? maybe Southampton??) may have figured into the succession struggle of the 1590s up to Elizabeth's death in 1603. The movie itself is centered on the famous, ill-fated Essex Rebellion of Feb. 1601, which was all about the succession.
